  • New website offers very cool way to track Twitter users in the Triangle

I’m so excited about this new site launched by my tweep, @mattrmiller. RTPeeps.com is a new way to track all the tweets sent by Triangle residents in real time. You can also find out who the most popular local tweeps are. The goal is to create a growing index of Triangle Twitter users. See it [...]

  • Local food blog will start publishing IP addresses on anonymous comments

The Durham food blog Carpe Durham is taking this step because it wants to provide some accountability. You see, the blog says (and I tend to agree) that comments on the Internet can have an impact (good or bad) on the reputation of local businesses. Find out more about this new policy here:

Durham blogger Paul has a list of seven things he takes into consideration when he decides who to follow. Read his blog to see if he would follow you:

  • What are you doing? We are the generation of status updates

Triangle blogger Allison has a good post about the role status updates have played in her life. She starts out about reminding us of the good ol’ days, when our updates were simply part of away messages on AIM. How have facebook and Twitter affected her updates?

  • Downtown Durham Inc. launches video blog

So far there’s just three videos, but if the downtown Durham boosters stick with it, it could be a cool addition to the Durham blog scene.

  • Informal Triangle Tweetup planned tonight in downtown Raleigh

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting another Triangle Tweetup, then wait no more. An informal tweetup is being planned at Edge Office in downtown Raleigh at 7 p.m. tonight. There’s another Tweetup Tuesday billed as a “West End Tweetup” for Chapel Hill, Carrboro tweeps.

  • UNC Journalism School gets new website, new curriculum

The UNC Journalism School website received a redesign, and the results are clean and simple. The new site features social media integration, links to professor blogs and a section dedicated to the schools new curriculum for the 2009 academic year. See it here:

  • Red Hat could benefit from Google’s attempts to challenge Windows

The Triangle Business Journal explains how Raleigh-based Red Hat could benefit from Google’s announcement that it will develop a free operating system. The OS will be developed by combining code from the open-source Linux operating system with the Google Chrome browser:
