Durham resident Adam Covati launched idek.net in September 2008. The site makes it easier to figure out how many people are looking at links you post. Covati works for Bronto, a Durham-based firm that provides e-mail marketing software, and loves metrics, which prompted him to create this site one Saturday afternoon.

Durham neighborhood to throw annual Beaver Drag Pageant
It’s time for the fifth annual Beaver Queen Pageant in Durham’s Duke Park neighborhood. The beaver drag pageant features residents as animals in whacky costumes and helps raise money for the Ellerbee Creek Watershed Association. PeepFest 2009: Peeps take over Chapel Hill bookstore
Each year Marshmellow Peeps take over Market Street Books for one day. You won’t believe the creative things that are done with peeps at PeepFest. The bookstore/arts-based community center is a nonprofit in Chapel Hill’s Southern Village neighborhood. PeepFest 2009 is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 4.

News & Observer photographer Shawn Rocco doesn’t just rely on his digital camera. He also takes a lot of pics with his cell phone and posts them on his personal blog, Cellular Obscura. You can see two of Shawn’s prints at the Raleigh City Museum’s Portraits of Raleigh exhibit.
