• Durham Athletic Park reopens Saturday following major renovations

  The DAP (not to be confused with the DBAP) is the old Durham Bulls ballpark that served as a backdrop for Bull Durham. Bull City residents approved bonds that helped pay for renovations to the ballpark, which was literally crumbling. The Indy has details on Saturday’s celebration:

• Tye Banks Sued Over ‘Official Carolina Hurricanes Song’

  It sounds like Tye Banks should’ve consulted a lawyer before he shot the photo for his song “Carolina Hurricanes.” At first the Hurricanes were annoyed because he referred to it as the team’s “official” song. He removed that designation from his site, but now they don’t like the jersey he’s wearing:

• Dean Smith named one of the best basketball coaches in history
