• Raleigh dog owners will have to follow new rules on July 1

  Come July 1, you won’t be able to tie a dog up outside for more than three consecutive hours in any 24 hour period. The anti-tethering ordinance is meant to keep dogs from strangling themselves on their leash, but it may prevent pet owners from tying them up all day long.

• Grab your water gun, it’s time for “Raleigh Wars”

  Wow! Apparently, it’s time for “Raleigh Wars” an urban water weapon tournament inside the beltline. I never heard of this until I read “Goodnight, Raleigh” this morning, but basically it involves plotting out an elaborate scheme to squirt your target with a water gun:

• See Silly Putty Go ‘Splat!’

  Students will drop a big blob of silly putty fall from the roof of the NC State library today. Sounds like more fun than education, but organizers say they’re engineering students. I guess that means it’s ok. “Stand back, people! Engineering students coming through!”
