I love your suggestion of running ideas past someone skeptical. On the contrary, I think a lot of us intentionally don't do that because we don't want someone to criticize our plans. I was at the memorial, and it was definitely a neat event to have happening simultaneously in Raleigh. That said, I don't understand why a smaller venue couldn't have been used.
