When the Salukis are in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, I scream at the TV. I can’t help it. Depending on how the game plays out, my voice may be hoarse afterward. A doctor at the Duke Voice Care Center sees hoarse patients a lot during tournment season:

To get people thinking about the danger of too much screaming, Duke put together some tips on how to keep your voice healthy during tournament time. Among them: drink plenty of water and limit alcohol and spicy foods, which can dry out vocal cords and contribute to acid reflux.
