When US Airways flight 1549 went down last week, things got a little tense in the newsroom at NBC17. The father of our anchor Donald Jones was on the flight. In Donald’s latest blog post, he describes how he found out his father was on the plane and includes a video interview with his dad.

I’m a huge fan of LOL cats and so is Raleigh blogger Laurie Ruetimmann. Her latest blog post made me LOL because she refutes tech evangelist Robert Scoble’s advice to remove all LOL cat references from your blog if you’re looking for a job. Her post is hilarious!

When was the last time you used a phone book? Durham resident Lisa B. doesn’t know why phone books keep getting delivered to her house. She has info on how you can attempt to opt out of phone book delivery.

New furniture store aims to save time for shoppers
Raleigh flaneur John Morris spotted a new furniture shop on Glenwood South this weekend and took some photos of it. The place is called Hipsteria Modern and it’s barely open, John reports. The business is operating on limited hours until it officially opens Feb. 21. Looks like a good find.

It might snow in the Triangle tonight
Forecasters are saying we might get snow tonight and that it might actually stick. Let’s just hope it’s not a repeat of the gridlock caused by Triangle snow in 2005. What were you doing when that crazy storm broke out?
