  You know the controversy over bringing the sex shop near Southpoint? Well, the bloggers at “How RDU Doin?” went out to Southpoint with a video camera and asked shoppers what they thought about Adam & Eve coming to town. The resulting video is pretty funny.

• Some local students won’t get to watch the inauguration at school

  Raleigh mom Bonnie Rochman called her son’s school to see if his kindergarten class would get to watch the inauguration. She found out it’s up to the teachers and speculates that some won’t let students watch the historic event because it will eat into classroom time. Do you think kids should get to watch it?

• Former White House photographer and Bill Clinton to appear at NCSU

  Former White House photographer Sharon Farmer will speak at NC State on Jan. 26 which is the same day that former president Bill Clinton will be speaking at the school. Both events would be worth attending if you can get out of class/work.

• UNC student singing on American Idol

• Triangle is test market for Wendy’s breakfast menu

  I remember thinking it was odd that Wendy’s was serving breakfast in Raleigh because I never saw the meal being offered at Wendy’s in other places I traveled. N&O retail reporter Sue Stock explains why. Turns out the Triangle is a test market, and two years later, Wendy’s isn’t sure if it will go national.

• News and Observer to publish extra edition on inauguration day

  Newspapers rarely post extra editions. The last major extra edition that I can recall newspapers producing was on Sept. 11 (am I forgetting some other major news event that resulted in an extra edition). The N&O, however, will be publishing an extra edition on inauguration day, despite the economic problems newspapers are facing.
