Cheech and Chong to light up Durham
It’s the stoner duo’s first tour in 25 years, according to the press release from the Durham Performing Arts Center. Tickets go on sale at 4:20 p.m. Friday, a fitting time.

Cop who befriended deer urges people to lighten up
A few weeks ago I told you about the officer who made friends with a deer on the outskirts of downtown. The N&O ran a cutesy story about him rescuing it. Well, the officer heard from a lot of people after the article came out, and on Sunday he wrote a letter to the editor [...]

Durham couple finds lamest way to dispose of their old appliances
You have to take a look at the video of the couple illegally dumping their washing maching in downtown Durham. The video was captured by a resident who positioned his web cam in his loft over the parking lot. The video is on Bull City Rising.

Local school teacher marries homeless man
The story of the love that blossomed between a Wakefield Middle School teacher & a Raleigh homeless man is one that will either make your heart swell or your eyes roll. It’s probably the best local feature story you’ll read online today. N&O reporter Matt Ehlers did an incredible job telling the couple’s love story.

A man who purchased a ticket to protest the Dead Sea Scrolls received a refund after he refused to cover up the T-shirt he was wearing. WRAL reports that the T-shirt criticized Israel, and when museum staff asked him to turn it inside out or zip up his jacket he refused. He was asked to [...]
