Bill Clinton to speak at NCSU
Former president Bill Clinton will give a free public lecture at N.C. State University at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26. His speech is part of the university’s Millennium Seminar Series and will be at Reynolds Coliseum, so there should be plenty of room for all of you.

NCCU Restores Historic Building
It was originally the home of Dr. James Shephard, founder of what is now North Carolina Central University. After deteriorating for many years, it has been fully and beautifully restored.

Durham’s Martin Luther King Jr. parade is tribute to Barack Obama
I didn’t even realize that the Martin Luther King Jr. parade had already been scheduled for 2009, but it had and now it’s rescheduled. The parade is moving from Jan. 17 to Jan. 31 and will mark the beginning of Black History Month. It will also honor Barack Obama, the N&O reports.

Pilot who crashed into Clayton restaurant didn’t check weather conditions
A new report offers insight to why a pilot may have crashed his plane into a Clayton restaurant last year. The report says the pilot didn’t file a flight plan or check weather conditions, the N&O reports. The pilot reportedly made a sharp turn to avoid hitting an antenna and a water tower.
