    Schoolkids Records is moving its Hillsborough Street location, N&O music critic David Menconi reports. The recordshop’s Chapel Hill spot sadly closed this summer after 33 years in its spot on Franklin Street. But it’s Raleigh location isn’t going far. Menconi has the details:

  • Durham to lose top city official

    One of the top leaders in Durham city government is reportedly leaving the Bull City. Economic development director Alan DeLisle is leaving for Louisville, Bull City Rising reports. DeLisle is responsible, in part, for bringing the Durham Performing Arts Center to downtown Durham.

  • Ride a holiday train through Raleigh’s Pullen Park

    I still haven’t visited Raleigh’s Pullen Park, but now I really have no excuse. There’s a holiday train ride at the park, and I desperately want to go. The train starts chugging along today!

  • Masturbating maintenance man to be charged with felony

    It looks like the maintenance worker who allegedly masturbated at a co-worker’s desk is being charged with a crime afterall. Initially, no charges were being filed agains the man, who reportedly touched a piece of gum after finishing his deed and then placed it on the woman’s desk. The N&O has the latest:

  • Local officer will drug deer and move it to safety

    The local officer who befriended a real life Bambi is making plans to sedate the deer and move him to a safer place once hunting season is over. The officer sure did receive a ribbing from his biker friends who saw him snuggling with the deer.

  • Bev Perdue makes plans to move into governor’s mansion

    Governor-elect Bev Perdue is preparing to move into the governor’s sweet digs. Perdue has put her Chapel Hill home on the market for $2.7 million. The N&O has details about the home she’s selling and mansion she’s moving into.
