I just received a press release saying there’s going to be a “major news conference” at 11:30 today to announce a coaching change. The press conference will be at the RBC Center and is being streamed online so fans can watch. Here are some details from the press release:

Today’s news conference will also be available online, streaming live on CarolinaHurricanes.com for out-of-town media and fans. The Hurricanes’ team practice has been moved to 12:45 p.m., and lunch will be available for media covering today’s events.

Sad to say, but I was afraid something was going to hit the fan soon. Paul Maurice, the man current coach Peter Laviolette replaced, is reportedly going to be the interim head coach.
