  You know that creepy badger that Johnson Automotive uses in its commercials to mock stereotypical car salesmen? Well, you can soon own the furry creature. The Raleigh-based dealership is selling 10-inch-tall badger dolls this holiday season, the N&O reports.

• It’s best to be honest about your injuries

  Raleigh resident John recently suffered a knee injury and had to get an MRI. He was chatting up the nurse, explaining how he hurt his knee. The nurse got a kick out of his story and asked him to repeat it to the tech, but the tech didn’t find his tale quite as funny.

  When Bonnie Rochman checked her e-mail the other day, she was greeted by a message from her homeowners’ association. Apparently a sex offender had recently moved into their zipcode. The Raleigh mom did a little digging and found you can get free alerts about incoming sex offenders from http://www.ncfindoffender.gov/

  It sucks that childhood obesity is such a problem, but will eliminating cupcakes and candy from the classroom really keep a kid from tipping the scales into the overweight category? Wake County schools are investigating ways to keep more sweets out of classrooms. But shouldn’t good eating habits start at home?
