What would you do if someone tried to carjack you? Would you fight back? What if it were in the parking lot of a grocery store and you had a frozen turkey in your sack? Would you be quick enough to grab it and whack the offender over the head? Some quick-thinking Fuquay-Varina residents were.

Officers found Fred Ervin, 30, in the woman’s car, Fuquay-Varina police said. Ervin was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a serious head wound. When he is released, police said Ervin will face multiple charges for the carjacking and larceny. The carjacker was bleeding profusely from the head and neck, police said.
