  Earlier this year Raleigh picture taker John set up his tripod on the state capitol grounds. He thought he was alone, until he got home and looked at his photos. That’s when he saw a shadowy figure. It’s easy for nonbelievers to doubt this stuff, but look at his evidence.

• If you win a million bucks in a hole-in-one contest, who pays?

  I didn’t think anyone ever won those contests where you win a $1 million if you sink a hole-in-one. But it happened at a Holly Springs golf course. The N&O profiled a company that organizes these contests. You might think the owner doesn’t like it when golfers win, but he does:

  With Election Day looming, more campaign signs are being snagged. Last week, a Chapel Hill man caught a would-be thief by rigging his McCain-Palin sign with electricy. A Raleigh resident took a different approach, look the photo of this sign.

• Packing the flag away for George W. Bush

  Four years ago a Raleigh blogger took down the American flag that flapped outside his house. He swore he wouldn’t fly it again until George W. Bush was no longer at the helm. On Sunday, he broke that pledge and broke out the flag. Find out whether he’s going to leave it up or not:
