• Is there too much sprawl in Raleigh?

  The words “comprehensive plan” don’t seem so sexy when you’re talking about the future of Raleigh. Maybe “plan to keep Raleigh from turning into everything that’s wrong with America” would draw more attention from residents. Regardless the city document is set to be unveiled this week. • Don’t let being a vampire get in the way of finding love

  Would you still be attracted to someone if you thought they were dating a vampire? Maybe that sounds like a silly question, until you read the personal ad listed under missed connections on craigslist titled “Bowling with the undead.” Looks like this 27-year-old isn’t afraid of vampires.

• You don’t need to a witch or a warlock to play Quidditch

  I thought being able to fly was a prerequisite to playing Quidditch, the extracurricular Harry Potter and his friends made famous at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft. But apparently, you don’t need to be able to fly or have a golden snitch. Quidditch is being played with broomsticks right here in the Triangle.

• Wal-Mart ad fail: Not making lives better on Black Friday

  The Toatiest blog has a post called “Day-After-Thanksgiving Web Ad FAIL and just in case you have no clue to why it’s a fail, the ad says “Together we make lives better” But sadly a Wal-Mart worker was trampled to death by Black Friday shoppers yesterday. Just sad!

• New Raleigh’s Thanksgiving poll, turkey, traffic and in-laws

  The New Raleigh blog held a “What is your least favorite part of Thanksgiving?” poll with options such as family, football and traffic. I’m surprised that traffic is number 1 but what’s up with family being number 2? Don’t you love eating turkey with the in-laws?
