Major graffiti shows up near the Boylan Bridge
If you drove over the Boylan Bridge yesterday (that lovely spot that offers one of the best views of downtown Raleigh) then you probably couldn’t miss the open-mouthed, wide-eyed guy who was painted on a tank beside the train tracks. New Raleigh has the pictures. The graffiti has already been washed away.

A not so spooky look at Durham’s history
There’s going to be a ghost (buildings) tour in downtown Durham on Nov. 1. At first it sounds like it will be all spooky and cool, but if you read closer there are really no ghosts or hauntings. Still, it sounds like a cool way to get to know Durham’s past.

Check out the new virtual screen at one of Durham’s museums
If you haven’t been to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham yet, Valerie gives you yet another reason why you must go on her blog “We Love Durham.” The museum recently replaced its virtual screen, and the new one looks like a lot of fun to play with. She’s got a photo.

The Ting Tings cancelled their Raleigh concert
Remember how excited I was to find out The Ting Tings were coming to the Lincoln Theatre? Yeah, well, they’ve cancelled their show. I recieved the notice in my gmail this morning. You probably recognize their song “Shut Up and Let Me Go” from the iPod commercial. But their whole album rocks.

Cover charges are mandated at Chapel Hill bars
I’m such a small town girl sometimes because I scoff at cover charges (unless there’s a hot band). But if I want to party in Chapel Hill on Halloween (which I do) looks like I’ll be paying $5 to get into the bars. The charge is the latest effort to scale back Franklin Street fun.
