• N.C. State Fair press people track their lives on a “deep fried” blog

  We’re a week away from the launch of the North Carolina State Fair. The Ag Department Press Office is gearing up for the week of fair fun by moving its offices from downtown Raleigh to the state fairgrounds. The press folks are so excited they’ve started a blog dedicated to the fair.

• Google, laptops, and the classroom a perfect mix for education, but do teachers think so?

  I just read on the High Touch blog about how during the VP Debate people used Google search to ask questions and learn new terms. The post mentions how using laptops in classrooms can help students in learning. Personally I agree. Do you think schools should band laptops in the classroom?

• How Rachael Ray helped a local couple go on a babymoon

  My fabulous co-worker Page Crawford just returned from a trip to St. Croix with her hubby. They were on a “babymoon,” taking their last vacation together before she has their baby. Added bonus, they won the trip on the Rachael Ray show in a wedding dance off. See the original video here.

• North Carolina state government doesn’t need a jet afterall

  In these tough economic times, would you be annoyed if I told you the state had plans to buy a $9 million jet? The jet would be an upgrade from the NC Commerce Department’s propeller plane. It would’ve been used to fly company reps around the state to see potential locations to build plants.
