  Bull City Rising posted that recently Durham, NC was named by “Black Enterprise” as being the best city in the U.S. to retire. Some of the reason Durham was selected are, education, 2 hours from the beach & world-class medical facilities. Would you agree?

• Duke students won’t bus to Franklin Street for Halloween

  The Halloween party on Franklin Street will be lacking some Dukies this year. Duke University will not be providing buses to the party. It’s Duke’s way of helping Chapel Hill curb the revelry. • North Carolina gas is the most expensive in the country (almost)

  Gas prices are annoyingly high everywhere, but particularly in North Carolina. Looks like we have the highest gas prices in nation (with only Alaska and Hawaii topping us). North Carolina drivers paid an average $3.794/gallon Tuesday, which is 31 cents more than the national average, the N&O reports.
