Investigation at a coffee shop

Abby posted about a man who I’ve seen a few times my self driving backwards and forwards in the parking lot of Cafe Helios over aluminum cans. No one knows who he is and what his plan is with the cans. Have you seen him and do you have any information on him?

Wayne Sutton

There is a man who is frequently out back at Helios in an old Saab driving forwards and backwards and forwards and backwards. I saw this a few times before I worked out what he was doing. He takes aluminum cans, sprinkles them around, and then he flattens them with his car, presumably before recycling them.

Yay! I’m glad someone brought this up. I’ve seen him several times. I want to know what’s up, too! :-)

His name is Samuel and you know, I never asked him why he collects the cans, I assume it is to get money for recycling them. But I don’t know for sure.

I usually see him every Thursday, but I hadn’t been around the last few Thursdays and he pointed that out to me a week ago.

But if I see him again, I’ll ask!

Oh here’s my post about him: http://girloncamera.vox.com/library/post/for-a-while.html

I always liked watching him run the cans over. The joy I get from it is like being a child all over again.

Haha! I’m glad others are interested. I’ve seen him a few times, and I always think it’s a bit odd. Occurred to me that I might be able to get to the bottom of it on this here internet!

Brandy FTW! At least we have a name, now have to find out what he does with the cans.

When I lived on Chamberlain he would come by and take our cans out of the recycling bin. He told me he recycles the cans and gives the soda tabs to the Ronald McDonald house
