Did Hanna put an end our drought problems?
The forcast earth blog is reporting that both Falls & Jordan lake are 6 feet above normal after Tropical Storm Hanna last weekend. We’ll have to wait a few weeks to see how our water level looks to determine if we’re out of the drought yet.

Will tomorrow be the end of the world?
I’m not sure if this will be my last post or not but I have the same concern as Steve from the Between the Lines blog, as scientist switch on the large Hadron Collider tomorrow. It’s a device designed to recreate the big bang. Have you heard of the Collider & are you worried?

Do you leave the TV on for company?
I don’t watch a lot of TV, but there are a few shows I hate to miss (particularly “Grey’s Anatomy”). But from time to time, I do find myself leaving the TV on while I’m working on other things (I’m a sucker for “What Not to Wear” marathons). Shannon explores this habit.

What would you do if you thought your neighbor killed your dog?
I’m befuddled. I’m not sure if it’s because this tale is so disturbing or if it’s because I’m so disturbed that the N&O put this story on the front page. Please read this story of the Raleigh man who is accused of killing his neighbor’s Chihuahua. It’s unsettling, but front page news?
