Lately it seems BBQ is a bigger topic among local bloggers than the presidential debate. We highlighted some of it a couple of weeks ago, but we never resolved the question: Who has the best BBQ in the area? Well, the Newlyfeds staged a taste test and you might be surprised to see.

We didn’t want to be fooled by the charm of a run-down shack on the side of the road that no one had discovered, or swayed by Gourmet’s rave reviews of the painstaking efforts of an elderly country man who raised the pigs on turnips from his garden and chopped the wood for the fire himself. We wanted to base our opinion solely on a double-blind experiment that compared each barbecue side by side and where the only deciding factor would be the taste of the meat.

Oh, thanks for the link! I’m a “Cooper’s” man myself, but I’m always up to try a new place. Looks like I”ll be taking an extended scooter ride to northwest Durham to try Bullocks soon.

I know i put this on your other post but ‘Q’ is my passion! Smokey’s in Morrisville should be tried by all, its awesome, I even think it is in the Durham county part of Morrisville so that should count for the durham list.
