  New Raleigh blog has a picture of Senator Barack Obama in what looks like a Heisman trophy pose downtown Raleigh. There’s a live stream of his town hall meeting tonight, being linked around the web, along with tweets from Raleigh tweeple spotting him downtown.  Have you seen Obama today?

  Troy over at HippiePuncher.com posted cute conversation he recently held with a 5 year old. It reminds me of the show “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” not the conversation he had but the blog post. Take a look.

• No G Love for you

  The G Love and Special Sauce/John Butler Trio concert has been canceled. I saw G Love live when I was in college and had an awesome time, but I think it was the company. My date and I danced in the lobby of the balcony area at SIU’s Shryock Auditorium. Aww, young love. So naive.

  Over at the Mrs. Adventures of a Newlywed blog it looks like they’re getting ready for the new baby. The post mentions merging rooms in preparation for making a nursery, but they’ll have to wait another week or so before they find out if it’s a boy or a girl.

• Keep an eye on your receipts

  If you’re looking to save money, you might want to pay close attention to the scanner at the K-Mart at 6200 Capital Blvd in Raleigh. The location was fined for the SEVENTH time recently for excessive price scanning errors, the TBJ reports. A nearby Rite Aid was also fined for overcharging.

• No more cell phones for school bus drivers

  It doesn’t bother me when I see drivers talking on their cell phones (unless they’re driving like morons) since I do it all the time. But it does worry me to see school bus drivers chatting on their cells. I didn’t realize it was against the law though. It just got easier to report them.

• Should 21 be the legal drinking age?

  Duke University president Richard Brodhead appears to think so. He’s among about 100 presidents from colleges across the country that are backing an initiative that asks lawmakers to review whether it makes sense to lower the drinking age to 18.
