You’ve probably heard about the controversy around the flick, “Tropic Thunder.” I haven’t seen it, but it seems to be getting rave reviews from folks who don’t mind hearing the word “retarded” repeatedly tossed around. B liked it. And Danielle even wrote a haiku:

One of my best friends has a sister with Down’s Syndrome, and he is constantly amazed (and dismayed) at the use of the “R” word. It’s almost as rampant as the “That’s so gay” phrase, which most people see no harm in whatsoever either.
