I have maybe missed 10 days at the gym since I started going at the end of January. It is finally one of those things that can be called a "habit," and the conversation is almost never, "Will I go to the gym today," but rather one of, "When will I go to the gym today."

These are a couple of things I use to keep me going:

(1) This one thing—working out—contributes to so many of my goals: (a) lose weight, (b) maintain my health as I age, (c) feel good about keeping a commitment to do something that's so beneficial to me, and (d) feeling a sense of accomplishment as I leave the gym.

(2) I remember Stephen Covey's notion of the balance between Production/Production Capability, which essentially is the idea that if you don't take time to take care of the thing that allows you to "produce," eventually you will no longer be able to produce.
