  • Into the wild with white squirrels?

    Being treated like queens and kings in the wild? Well not exactly the wild but a group of local teachers had a chance to visit Pisgah Forest Institute  recently. The PFI focuses on “the earth and environmental science needs educators encounter in their classrooms. “ Oh yes, and they got a picture of a white squirrel too.

    Todd bought his iPod in 2003, and he put it through hell. This week, it finally died.   • The Jonas Brothers ‘rocked’ Raleigh last night

    Thousands of Triangle teens went to bed last night with images of the Jonas Brothers, today’s version of Backstreet Boys or NKOTB, dancing in their heads.   • Just when you think things couldn’t get worse at The Herald-Sun

    The Durham newspaper laid off six newsroom staffers this week, The Independent reports. The layoffs included a photographer and three veteran copy editors, all of whom I worked with during my Herald-Sun reporting days. That’s on top of the 80 employees who were laid off in 2005, when Paxton Media took over.
